Teneshia Patton
Teneshia is a medical student at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in her hometown of Tulsa, OK. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Howard University and an M.S. in Biology from Mississippi College. She is Miss Black Tulsa 2017, a lifelong dream that was deferred but never forgotten. In her free time, she likes to complete DIY projects, spend time with friends, and garden. She enjoys serving her community through volunteerism and particularly likes to help children. While Teneshia currently has interests in many fields of medicine, her main goal is to give back to her community and encourage others to pursue their goals of becoming a physician. She is excited to be joining the WCBD team as an Outreach Coordinator and plans on helping the organization soar to new heights!

Scott Salters
A Gamecock, a smiler, and an aspiring superhero. This Greenville, SC native is a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina - Columbia. There, he majored in Exercise Science within the Arnold School of Public Health. His studies strengthened his interest in health disparities and sedentary behavior. Scott was drawn to WCBD because he recognizes the worldwide disparity associated with lack of diversity in medicine. He had never been seen by a physician of color growing up, and wants to see a change. This passion was put into action on campus, when he reactivated the Minority Association of Pre-health Students chapter at USC. As Vice-president, he helped develop future minority leaders in medicine to create a step towards better health care. Catch Scott watching his favorite TV show Big Brother, or (low-key) binge watching Judge Judy episodes in his free time. He still wants to learn Spanish and learn how to cook a solid meal (send help!). Scott has dreams of becoming a physician whose practice is based around genuine relationships, and trust. He is excited to serve his community and others, alongside WCBD, to hopefully trail-blaze a path for those who come after him.
